Sheep and Shadow

Sheep and Shadow

Dingle Penninsula, County Kerry, Ireland

These Dingle sheep scurried beside the car along the narrow road only to panic when seemingly trapped against a stone face on one side and the sea on the other. Then but seconds later they grouped together and, despite completely stopping all traffic, they seemed as much at peace as they would be in any clover-filled Irish field.

The cruciform-shaped shadow in the foreground seems now serendipitously placed, though it was unobserved at the time. It’s seems so easy to overlook what is right in front of oneself.
